Assessment

At out first meeting, I'll ask you detailed information about your drinking, your health and your overall situation. Its also important to get to know what you want out of treatment, and what will be right for you.

Some people find it helpful to have their partner, a family member or a friend present - either to join in, or just for support.

At the end of the assessment, we can agree what the best next steps for you are. You're under no obligation or pressure to accept any further services from me.

Afterwards I can write to you summarising the assessment, and what options you have that can help solve your problems.

This can be useful, as often everything seems clear at the end of a consultation, but you can soon forget the details.

Its also useful to have to refer back to in the future, or to take to another health professional if you seek help or advice from them.
